The winner of the public vote will be announced on October 15th 2010. The Book Video Awards is a joint initiative run by Random House and The Bookseller Magazine. Now in its third year, the objective of the Awards is to enable talented young film directors to make high quality video trailers for great books. Students from the National Film and Television School are invited to submit proposals to create a 90 second trailer for a book from a selection presented by Random House. The winners each receive £5000 to create their videos which are then used to promote the books online for example on author and fan sites, YouTube and Amazon. Videos from previous years have also been used in adverts, on TV news and as enhancements for ebooks.

The investigator of the supernatural Harry Dresden… sorry Hole. Is this a book promo, or an actuall movie/TV series?
februari 23rd, 2012 on 6:49 f m
@Kushufy, wow my phone messed up that tag, lol. Read the description, it says it was a film school project to promote 4 books. It’s not a film or tv show.

@Misjudged, the description of the video tells you they made it for the book and was a film school project.

Saw the Headhunter last night at the Toronto Film Festival. It was a combination of humour, suspense, and thriller. Really good movie!

@corsonrj I agree. Jo’s books have a bit of humour and it’s not so emotionally heavy has the Steig’s books. Don’t get me wrong I loved the series but prefer Jo’s work.

@laidlaw84
right now, I’m really glad to know german
will the next book be released in october in english language too? In germany and austria it will be released on october 6th I think
februari 23rd, 2012 on 6:49 f m
@laidlaw84

haha I started with the devil’s star, then the leopard, the snowman, redbreast, the redeemer and tonight I just finished nemesis. Fucking awesome plot! But the snowman remains my favourite so far. I have the first book at home, so I think I will start to read it tomorrow
Harry is absolutely great! Always. I totally love him
Will it be translated into english sometime? In almost every book, the serial killer case in australia ( = the first book) is mentioned –> quite important?
februari 23rd, 2012 on 6:49 f m
@Someoneinwonderland I didn’t read them chronologically either. I started with the Snowman, then The Leopard, then The Redbreast, then Nemesis and now I’m reading The Devil’s Star… seems pretty promising
Harry’s such a punk in this one ahahaha. The english editions start with the Redbreast, so… and I don’t know German either unfortunately
